Andy is currently a New York based composer, musical director, arranger and orchestrator who has worked internationally in 4 countries. Born and raised in Australia, Andy began his training in music at the late age of 15, taking quickly to the piano and composition. He holds a Bachelor of Music (Composition) from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. He has worked with Broadway performers such as Alice Ripley, Jeremy Kushnier, Sara Gettlefinger, Euan Morton, and Randy Harrison and has worked with and been mentored by Broadway orchestrators Christopher Jahnke (Broadway’s Legally Blonde, Les Miserables, Memphis) and Steve Margoshes (Broadway’s Fame, Tommy, Aida).
Andy recently contributed music and orchestrated songs for the upcoming film Happy Yummy Chicken starring Taryn Manning (Orange is the New Black) and his original musical, Stalker: The Musical, played a successful run in the New York City Fringe Festival. His music has been performed around New York in venues such as the legendary Birdland. He also regularly creates film scores for award winning artist, Todd Fuller, which have played all around the world.
Andy is currently working as the arranger, orchestrator and musical supervisor for the musical Atomic which has played successful seasons in Sydney and Off- Broadway in New York and made it’s regional premier in Detroit, Michigan and released it’s studio cast recording earlier this year.
Since moving to New York, he has been involved in developing over 10 new musicals, which are all currently in varying stages of development. He orchestrated the Malaysian tour of Sinbad: The Musical and contributed orchestrations to the American touring show Thank You For Being A Friend. Andy was the musical director and conductor on the Chinese Tour of Kiss Me, Kate. Recently, he was the musical director and pianist for Luna Stage’s critically acclaimed New Jersey professional premier of Thrill Me and has served as a pianist for workshops for the Broadway productions of Les Miserables and The King And I.
Andy’s passion and love for creating and contributing to the development of new musical theatre continues to take him on exciting adventures in New York City.
